La India Dormida (“the sleeping indian girl” in Spanish) is one of the most famous spots in the Anton Valley to watch the sunrise. This hike only takes about 1 hour to the top and is the perfect way to start your morning. On the way to the summit, we will find several points of interest such as Piedra Pintada, a large historic rock with petroglyphs of indigenous cultures. In addition to the varied vegetation typical of the tropical climate, we will pass next to the waterfalls Chorro El Escondido and Chorro Los Enamorados.
The path will take us along the edge of this incredible mountain that is part of the crater of the Volcán del Valle de Antón.
This part of the mountain is shaped like a sleeping woman. This is where this mountain gets its name from and we will delve into the history of Flor del Aire, the Sleeping Indiginous girl, which will be told by the guides during this adventure.
