Overview

The El Águila Waterfall is one of those places that takes you to another world. The hike to get there takes approximately 3 hours, with different types of terrain such as steep and rocky terrain, crossing through the tropical forest and then walking upriver until we reach our final destination. It is an experience that stimulates all the senses and that is enjoyed not only in the waterfall but all along the way. This intermediate level hike is ideal for all those who want and enjoy a complete immersion in nature.

Itinerary

We will pick you up at a meeting point in the Anton Valley with our vehicle. The journey to the starting point of the hike will take approximately 15 minutes.

The hike will take around 3 hours. The first section will be on mixed terrain, with several ups and downs. The second section will be done walking in the river. A unique and immersive experience in nature. Upon reaching the waterfall, there will be a natural pool ideal for swimming and relaxing. You can also climb the main waterfall to access other natural pools where you can also swim.

After having enjoyed immersion in nature next to the waterfall, we will take the trail back.

Back in Valle de Anton, we will have a delicious, well-deserved lunch.

General Information

Anton Valley is located inside the crater of a non-active volcano. It’s a popular destination for both locals and foreign tourists due to its proximity to Panama City.

The cool climate is a welcome change from the heat and humidity of the city, and on warm days there’s always a cool breeze. The crater is about 600 meters above sea level with mountains surrounding the town waiting for you to explore them.

Departing from Anton Valley there is a great variety of outdoor activities, mainly hiking, visits to waterfalls, rappelling and much more.

The activities we offer require a certain physical condition. For each tour there is a difficulty scale as a guide. People with particular physical and health conditions must indicate it, it’s important that our guides are aware and prepared if one of the participants has a particular physical or health condition.

Some of our tours include lunch, please let us know in advance if any of the participants have a specific diet or if they have any type of food allergy. It is important to keep in mind that the meals we offer are prepared by locals and that depending on the destinations, the options of ingredients may be limited.
