Overview

The Caraiguana (“the iguana face” in Spanish) is one of the mountains that form the crater of the volcano, in which El Valle de Antón is located.

Its name is due to its shape, which when seen under a certain angle, looks like the head of an iguana.

From its top you get one of the best views of the town of the Valley, the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding mountains. Ideal to appreciate sunrises or sunsets, enjoy the strong breezes during the first months of the year and admire the unique spectacle that the clouds create when they descend into the valley and fill the crater.
